About This Fundraiser
We are Owen and Rhonda Baek- the Baek Family. We are asking you to be apart of this year’s Cycle for Justice with us. Owen will be cycling with the crew and Rhonda is part of the support crew for the cycling team. Cycle for Justice is to not only bring awareness of the injustices of Korea but to give as needed to those in need.
There are approximately 20 to 30 million slaves in the world today. Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of US$32 billion every year. Approximately 80% of trafficking involves sexual exploitation. CYCLE for JUSTICE (Formerly Ride Against Traffick) is a faith-based movement to raise awareness (and funds) about the social injustices of modern day human trafficking happening in Korea and around the world. From September 12-14th (for the seventh year in a row), our team will be cycling around Korea (160 miles / 250 km), along the DMZ, which separates North and South Korea. One of the three groups we will be sponsoring is Justice for North Korea, which is an organization that helps to free NK women from sexual trafficking in places like China. Thousands of NK women are trafficked to China each year and forced into marriage or prostitution. We will also be raising funds for the Oak Tree Project (which raises scholarships for orphans in Korea to attend college) and the DO Dream Center (which helps Korean orphans in the Philippines).
Join me and our 20 riders and support crew in supporting these great causes. Every bit will help!
